Welcome to Dimensions in Community Health!

This website is dedicated to serving students, practicing nurses, and nurse educators as a resource for building knowledge, understanding, and potential empowerment in our community.

For more than 115 years nurses in the United States have been welcomed into the homes and neighborhoods of people in need of knowledge about health and how to achieve and maintain it.  Community Health Nurses have flexibly adapted to their uncertain work environments in order to continue to serve individuals, families, and communities with education, treatment, prevention strategies, and self-care initiatives. They have met workforce shortages with persistence and acceptance of contingent strategies throughout their history: during epidemics, wars, economic crises, and dramatic population growth.

There is a dedication to serving the vulnerable and a commitment to supporting the PH system that permeates the community health workforce culture and measures are being taken to improve the quality of service delivery.

You may wish to engage in conversation about how your workplace and your work are changing. Sign up for access to the Discussion Forum by clicking on the Create Login link above right.
